Lecture: Eugene Marlow

  • Skidmore College, Arthur Zankel Music Center, Chamber Room 815 N Broadway Saratoga Spring, NY 12866 United States (map)

Why knowing what your net worth is will help you evolve your musical career? Presented by Eugene Marlow.

The reality is most people in the performing arts, musicians included, do not want to deal with money or issues surrounding money. Most artists only want to present their art while letting someone else deal with career planning, fundraising, marketing and selling, networking, budgeting, and legal issues.

Today, the key operational words are: Do It Yourself (DIY) and entrepreneurship. On the Entrepreneurial level, there’s is no getting around the fact that each artist needs to find their definition of new worth.

Struggling with defining one’s net worth is a process that can be compared to learning “technique,” but once you have a modicum of mastery you can proceed to perform with ease and confidence.! This talk will provide the “technique” and process of defining one’s net worth.

This lecture is open to all participants and staff.
